As a small business, we’re thrilled to see how much Efficiency Manitoba is helping to empower small businesses while promoting sustainability. So, let’s take a minute to talk about that… while we take a break from reading the Building Code book and Space Planning 😅

Their Small Business Program, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability, provides two levels of energy efficiency upgrades – Basic and Premium – to transform your business while reducing environmental impact.

With the Basic Upgrades, you can install A-line LED bulbs, bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators, pre-rinse spray valves, and low-flow showerheads for FREE. Uhm, yah. You will also receive a lighting and attic insulation assessment to determine eligibility for the Premium Upgrade. Through the Premium Upgrade, Efficiency Manitoba covers 70% of material and installation costs for LED linear lamps, specialty LED lamps, LED exit signs, smart thermostats, lighting controls, and pitched roof insulation.

We can create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, safe, complies with the Building Code requirements but also eco-friendly… WIN.

While we are deep into reading this… we’ve listed their requirements below so you don’t have to go searching for it:

  • Under 15,000 square feet
  • Not part of a national franchise or chain
  • 10 or fewer locations in Manitoba
  • Pays an energy bill at a commercial rate

Efficiency Manitoba’s commitment extends to supporting Indigenous small businesses too. Their Indigenous Small Business Program provides free energy efficiency upgrades in two phases.

Phase 1 begins with a complimentary energy assessment to determine eligible upgrades, such as A-line LED bulbs, faucet aerators, and pre-rinse spray valves. These upgrades offer immediate water and energy bill savings, showcasing our shared dedication to sustainability. In Phase 2, you can upgrade LED linear lamps, specialty LED bulbs, LED exit signs, smart thermostats, lighting controls, and pitched roof insulation.
